Download Instructions

1. Initially, you may be prompted with a dialogue box (see below) that asks you if you want to open the file or save it to disk. Choose "save to disk" and click "OK."
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
2. In Netscape (Internet Explorer is almost an identical process however your dialog menus may appear different), after left clicking the ViaQuote (Vers. 1.10i) file, you should be prompted with a Save As... dialog box. In the Save in: pull-down menu at the top of the box, and select a directory (folder) on your hard drive (usually (C:) drive). Be sure to specify a location you're familiar with so you will remember where you' saved the file (see example below). Then click the Save button in the lower right hand corner.
   
   
   
   
   
3. If you wish to make floppy installation disks for non-Internet enabled users, simply copy the ViaQuote (Vers. 1.10i) you downloaded to your floppy drive (usually (A:) drive) or download the file directly to your floppy drive instead of the hard drive.

• 16 Megabytes of System RAM
• 2 Megabytes of Hard Disk Space
• Mouse or other pointing device
• Printer (optional)

General Loading Instructions

Make sure that there are no other Windows programs running when you attempt to install the CNA ViaQuote System. Only My Computer for Windows 95 should be open. (Unless you have good reason, you should simply accept all the defaults which ViaQuote provides during the installation process.)

To run the install program under Windows 95/98/NT:

• Click on the Start button
• Select Run from the Start menu
• In the Run menu, type the location where you downloaded the file and add \SETUP to the end. Then click the OK button. For example on step 1 of downloading ViaQuote, you choose the download folder on your hard drive (C:). Therefore you would type "C:\download\viaquote" in the Run menu then click the OK button. If you were installing from a floppy disk you would type A:\SETUP and click the OK button.
• Follow the instructions given by the installation program

If you ever need to uninstall the ViaQuote system for any reason, the installation process automatically adds an uninstall icon along with the ViaQuote icon in the ViaQuote directory (folder).

Directory Structure and Program Names

The installation program will allow you to select the disk drive and directory to which the files are to be written. The defaults are to C:\CNA, with a subdirectory of VIAQUOTE. The install places files only in the VIAQUOTE directory. The install does NOT change your Windows system in any way, except to add a program group and icon to your desktop.

Operation of ViaQuote

If you are familiar with the operation of other Windows applications, learning to use ViaQuote should be almost effortless. Here is an overview of the pro

cess:

1. Run the application by double clicking on the icon created by the installation process or by selecting ViaQuote from the program listing.
   
   
2. Fill in the necessary fields for the current case. The system will store and recall the information entered from your last entry.
   
   
3. Select country and class information by clicking on the small arrow box to the right of the field, then click on your choice. You can move to your country more quickly by pressing the first letter of the country name before clicking on your choice.
   
   
4. You cannot enter information into fields in which the lettering is gray, such as the rating and rider fields. To activate these fields, click on the square boxes in front of them.
   
   
5. To view only the values generated by ViaQuote, click on the View button (or press Alt-V). Click the Close button, (or press Alt-C) to close the ViaQuote Results dialog.
   
   
6. To print the quote generated by ViaQuote, click on the Print button (or press Alt-P). This opens the default Windows print dialog box, which will allow you to just click on OK (or hit ENTER) to send the output to the default printer, or to select a different installed printer.
   
   
7. Click the Exit button (or press Alt-X) to close ViaQuote.
